Hey guys:
I've gone through two 13" mbas (1.86/4gb, ultimate) and both have had inversion or pixel walk screen issues. Any time i scroll through webpages pixels will shift very subtely - for instance in macrumors archive those fine lines that box in posts will blur when actively scrolling up/down.
I can't find any definitive posts on what causes this aside from voltage issues w/lcd. The folks at genius bar were not helpful.
This site: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php has some examples. Another thread on the issue https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2675037?threadID=2675037&tstart=43
Does anyone know if this is an issue with all the 13'' mbas? It's a small issue but really bothers me, especially since I scroll and read through tons of text and the flickering becomes pretty apparent.
Any advice on solutions or general thoughts on what the issue is exactly would be appreciated.
At this point I'm going to try a third 13'' ultimate and see if I get the same problem.

is really early? I'd like to go...but do we really need to get there 'early'??? I mean, this is AZ do people really care like we do??? This isn't the opening of a new Scottsdale night club...haha. Give me a time...I'll be there. Even tho 9A559 has been working out more than fine for me since it was seeded.
have you heard anything about how early you have to be to get a t-shirt?

Hi, I'm coming to you with a question on behalf of my mother, whose computer won't start up.
Early this morning we had a power outage (for a whole total of ten seconds) which, well, shut everything down including her Power Mac G5. Now it won't start up. Yes, it's plugged in, and it's connected to a surge protector.
When you press the power button you can hear the fans start, and the CD drive begin to whirr, but no sound other than that, no start up noise. We're also not getting any visuals on the monitor at all. The white light on the front of the computer begins to blink continuously, and it's a pretty fast blink, I'd say twice a second.
After searching around online, I can't figure it out, I've tried pressing the Cuda/PMU button, but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? If worst comes to worst, we'll see about taking it in to the Apple store at the mall where I work. Speaking of, I have to run off to work now, thus I won't be able to check back for a good eight hours or so, but thank you in advance!

Thanks! Which one is better?
Another question . People said once I use the turbo SIM I can not turn the cell phone off anymore. Why that?
That's with the first generation Gevey Turbo Sims. If you buy a Gevey Pro you don't need to do that.
But the good thing with the Rebel Micro Sim, you don't have to cut your sim card to fit the custom tray.

I do not know if i should post this in this site or not but i do not know any where else to try and get answer's. I have pro tools and i just uninstalled it and it freed up 100 GB. Why is it so huge. I only had one audio file i had been working on and it was not that big. So is there something i need to do to free up space when i am done with a audio file or am i possible doing something wrong?????
Thanks
Also if you know of a place better for me to post this let me know
ProTools 100 gig in size? I don't think so - don't you mean 100 meg maybe? Also which version of PT? You might want to post this over in the DUC.
Thanks

Mr. Schmidt says the two companies spent a long time trying to find common ground. He was pleasantly surprised that there was a lot of common ground. He says the two companies are dependent upon each other.
I assume he's talking about Android and the handsets Verizon sells.
One question that the plan does definitively answer is that the non-discrimination proposal would never apply to wireless.
How interesting. I wonder what makes them distinguish between mobile Internet and "desktop" Internet. This really does sound like more of a business proposition between the two companies, disguised as a public service.

i thought there was a setting for this. in the sounds settings, there's a ringer and alerts volume slider, and it says "the volume of the ringer and alerts will not be affected by the volume buttons." I'm not sure if this affects alarm but maybe you can try it :)

Hello!
I bought a MacBook Pro on the 26th of February, and iWork along with it. So today when I was filling out the rebate form for iWork, I noticed that it asks for the UPC codes on the computer and the iWork, along with the receipt.
Well, that had me worried. If I sent in my receipt, and both of the UPC codes... I would have no way of proving that I bought this product, if any problems ever occur! Is this how it is supposed to be or am I missing something here?
Thanks!

Well first, do you have a wireless connection for your internet?
If you do, then go to Setting ->Wi-Fi -> then find your wireless and connect there.

So I have a bunch of movies in avi form that I have converted to watch on my ipad and that works great.
What settings should I use if I want to watch on DVD instead?
What if I want to connect my ipod or ipad to my TV and watch that way?
Once I convert the files using handbrake I then use popcorn to make my DVD.
I have know idea about this stuff and apologize in advance for sounding like an ass.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, iCal and addressbook both sync with google. Google has instructions for setting it up. They all sync.
For comparison, I have iCal at home sync with google calendar, and my iphone calendar syncs to the google calendar as well. It all plays pretty well together (some hinky features with alarms, but basically works).

2010 C2D MBP and you say it is slowing down for day to day tasks?
Hogwash. :D
And if the hard drive is going to fail aren't you under warranty still? They came out 4/10. Maybe you haven't missed the deadline yet.
Worst case it is a good time to put a SSD in that baby. :)
anyway not seeing the point of getting a MBA, iPad and iMac. And even stranger is making your mind up to get all this stuff, but somehow you don't know which iMac you want or whether a 27" model is "worth" it?
I don't think those 3 devices are "worth" it.

Yes it is a terminal command. "sudo" is used to execute the command with the "root" user (system administrator), it will ask you for your login password before executing.

Yeas I've done a couple of those restarts since learning how with no change. I'll see if anybody suggests any different and then try the restore.
If I restore will I lose my text messages and data within apps?
Thanks scott

I know the title's pretty vague, but that's basically my problem. I've been looking around the internet for a fix for it but hasn't seen one so far.
Everything else on it works, just the wifi bar is greyed out and says "No Wi-Fi"
I've tried to reset the network many times, and also tried to reboot it and also resetting the entire iphone. Also, my iPhone isn't jail broken.
Is this a hardware problem?
Also, would it be possible to trade it in. Although it's second hand, so I don't have the original box and receipt etc...
Please help, thank you!

great! Thanks for quick reply. I have an ext hard-drive, I was just checking that my model could handle the upgrade??
How would I do it? form the hard drive, I am a complete novice at this stuff!
sorry, not the hard drive model, the Mac mini. all I know is that I would put the leopard 10.5 on the ext hard drive then.....

Maybe it is going to be a surprise
I considered that, but it didn't sound like it. He already had some pretty specific requirements from his son.
Anyway just giving a $2200 MBP with Apple care is more than enough in my world. I don't think you'd get any complaints.
Extra software depends on the user's preference. As do many of the upgrades.
I guess if you wanted to bump up against the $2500 budget after 15% discount then put a SSD in the thing for an extra $500. But you can do that after market too.

Have you checked Activity Monitor and seen, if L&T is using all available CPU?
