Wow! Impressive work from Adobe.
You know, I was around in the mid-80s when the mouse and GUI first hit the market, and I recall the bickering amongst my fellow computer geeks about whether one could do real work with these new "toy" computers (which didn't phase me as I was also interested in desktop publishing and could sense where it was going.) Back then, there were merits to both sides of that debate, but over time, it's become clear that the mouse+GUI was far more powerful and flexible than at first perceived by the geek crowd.
I'm starting to see a lot of parallels between the touch interface devices and those days in the 80s. Every time I see/hear some geek declare the iPad a toy and useless for real work, I just think back to those days when my geek friends sneered at the Macs with the silly mouse and pretty GUI and wonder if history is repeating itself.
And then I see things like what Adobe is doing and I know it for a fact. We're seeing another revolution in computing happen, but most people won't acknowledge it for many years, until it's beyond obvious.

You should only use that option to convert AIFF CD Audio files NOT mp3 files. Your quality will go in the toilet if you try to convert mp3 directly to AAC at any bit rate. Plus it does take a long time to make that crappy conversion.
True - I imagine that it would indeed. I already turned the option off because it didn't seem like it would be too helpful...

I got a Power Mac G5 as an early gift from my mom a week and a half ago. Been loving it since. I also got a thing of Danish butter cookies and an Old Wisconsin meat sampler.
Dear old Mommy got a pack of smokes, a thing of Maxwell House coffee, and a box of Whitman's chocolates. The smokes and coffee she actually asked for. Chocolates were my idea.

I'm still on an older Family 850 plan for $50.99 and it's not showing up. Is it because you have to be on a current 700+ Family Plan? If so, I don't think it would do me any good as the 700 plan cost more than the 850 I'm on now.

This is my first post. It takes a lot for me to stop being a lurker, but the idea that any user can resize a textarea on a site I design, dynamically redrawing the page, is among the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. This will break valid page layouts in new and unheard of ways. Designers make form elements a size and shape for a reason.
Web designers will just have to become more sophisticated. They will have to learn to work with relative units. For example a button size should be specified as "m times the lenght of this string in the current user specified font" and a image size rather then being fixed might be "80% in the frames width as set by the user
We should get back to the way HTML markup is envisioned. The author tags the test by functions like "title" or "larger" and the browser descides how to display it

Well, to be honest, I think Safari is one of the very, very few Mac software things I don't use.
Opera, firefox, camino, sure.
Never really like Safari, no idea why.
Anyway, I only see 1 actual 'new' feature, which is the resizing textfields thing.
As a user, I have to say, I like it.
Being a webdesigner too, I hate the idea of people raping my design.
So, good feature??? I don't know. After all, I don't think this is a feature many users will actually use, except when it's REALLY necessary, which usually only happens with crappy webpages, which I tend not to design....
The other features, well, sorry people, but these are things I do daily in all of my other browsers. Nothing new there. I think it's terrible They weren't in yet though.
I still can't get why Apple uses Safari. Totally doesn't fit in their 'good, innovating software' thing. I'd expect Opera to be made by Apple.

Many forum members here in the past have claimed that these methods also fall under the classification of torture, so what if information obtained using these methods led to the death of O.B.L.?
Don't care. When it comes to torture I'm an absolutist- it is unacceptable no matter the circumstances. I'd rather never have found Bin Laden than torture someone to find him, if that is what happened.
No torture. Ever. That clear enough?

I have always used my iphone 4 with the supplied USB cable. Yesterday when I plugged it i I got the yellow triangle symobol & the message
"charging is not supported with this accessory".
I have tried all the USB connections on my PC and still the same message.
Any help would be appreciated.

We iPhone and 3G iPad owners are plenty upset by this as well.
Well, to be fair, you express hate toward Apple constantly. And given the conspiracy ideas in your signature, you are plenty upset about lots of things in your life. So I would hardly consider you a typical case. Apple could offer free computers tomorrow and you'd instantly post a message expressing your hatred of Apple for doing that.

Yeah, the whole 2G = 2nd Generation thing is getting old. Most people with any sense can discern 2G from 2GB, but that's assuming that most people have any sense, which sadly isn't the case.
(I don't get it; when people say they have a 120 Gigabyte Hard Drive in their computer, they always say "120GB," not "120G." So why get confused at "2G iPod?" It's simply confounding!)
Even with clarification, people still foul it up. I concur with recommending to referring to it as the G2 Shuffle, or even "new iPod shuffle" as Apple refers to it on their site.
I'd recommend naming it "clippy" but well... that would just start a whole new debacle!
:o
Anyway, even though I already have a 5G iPod (err... that's 5th Generation, or G5, or iPod Video) I might pick up one of these clippy ones. I could take it places where I fear to carry my larger & more expensive iPod. It would also make a great gift!
The iPods have always been referred to as 1st generation, 2nd generation, 3rd generation, hence 1g, 2g, 3g...and so on.
If you want to call the iPod by its "name" then the:
5G/5th generation would be called the "iPod with video capability."
4G/4th gen iPod would be called the iPod with clickwheel
3G/3rd gen iPod would be called the iPod with dock connector
2G/2nd gen iPod would be called the iPod with touch wheel (correct me if I'm wrong)
1G/1st gen iPod would be called the iPod with scroll wheel
In other words, the iPods are named by their number, than the word "generation"
Folks...please undertand that if it has GB it is an abbreviation for gigabyte, MB is for megabyte, KB is kilobyte, and G is generation
THANK YOU
