You should...
1) Back up your ipod so you cant lose any of your songs or paid apps
2) E-mail your photos to your netbook, restore, then re-jailbreak and use your netbook to E-mail yur pics back to your ipod wehere you can then select "save" from the E-mail.

Hey guys,
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to Mac repair. I did alot of PC tower work back in the day but I've recently been working on a MacPro tower for my student run TV station on campus.
Basically I plugged the machine in and before pressing any button it will click, the light will turn on simultaneously and it won't respond to the button being clicked. Also when I pull the power out it will click as it did when I plug it in.
So I figured this was some sort of power supply issue. After spending hours trying to find the right tool to get the heat sink off I pulled the power supply out. I looked in through the vent holes and it looked as if some sort of grey plastic had melted all over the internals. This was the second power supply for this unit and I found the first unit had the same grey matter inside but not in the same places.
Do you guys think it's worth my time to drop the money to get a new power supply or am I dealing with a bigger issue?
Thanks !
-Louis

Hey guys, happy almost thanksgiving!
I have a question, and hopefully someone could give me some feedback about this.
I am looking for a good A/C Wall (If it includes car then that would be even better) charger for my iPod 4G.
I am hoping to get something that also contains some sort of battery integration, so that i can carry it around.
The best product i have found is the zaggsparq. It seemed like such a amazing product, but it seems to be getting awful reviews, so i'd like to stay away from it.
Oh and if you know of good A/C Chargers or good battery packs for the iPod post them down below as well!
Again, thanks for all the help!

No idea, sorry. :(:o
It's ok. It's just I got this bluetooth gps receiver really cheap on Ebay, and I would love to be able to use the geocaching application on the ipod touch. I don't know if I want to go through with jailbreaking the ipod, because of the stability issues this poses. But jailbreaking would allow me to connect this receiver and use any app that uses gps. I wish apple would allow this functionality!

If you can't handle even something like Business Card Composer then you should probably just hire a designer. Find a student, they can put together a card in an afternoon and will be cheaper than a professional.

Hey guys, so I've read the FAQ and what not and I really hate asking for help, but I'm stuck.
I'm using an i7 MBP on 10.6.4.
What do I need to download and run to get this set up? I'd like to use the graphical client (if possible). I like to have it run next to me at work and it's kinda interesting to watch.
So basically I downloaded this one. (attachment 1)
Then I downloaded this (attachment 2)
And that folder contains these (attachment 3)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm already using SETI@Home, Rosetta@Home, and Milky Way 3D mapping. I feel Folding@Home has a greater purpose than most of these (Rosetta is sorta the same).
THANKS!

I have a Quicksilver G4/867 with 640MB RAM. I run os 10.4. Is maxing out the RAM at 1.5MB worth it on this machine? How about upgrading to 10.5? This machine is mostly for the kids doing homework and internet, although I would like to start syncing ipad and iphone on it (the reason for 10.5). Thanks.
The only thing I'd say is that performance won't be stellar. I have a Dual 867 G4, and 10.5 isn't that fantastic on it, however it does work (It has 1.5GB RAM, and I personally would go to at least 1GB pre-Leopard install). It should easily work if all your doing is iTunes, but Safari etc may be slow.

might be with Airplane mode on..so no connections are being eaten up by battery. When I only listened to music at work, I could get about 10 hours use time just from music playing and that was with 3G on. I never turn on airplane mode.
Also make sure Wifi, bluetooth, any apps running in the background, push is set to off if you are worried about battery life. Only use those functions when you would need to use them.

Looks like a good start! I like the nice colors.
Not that it would make a huge difference, but you could reduce the height of contbg.jpg to 1px instead of 5px. It would reduce file size a tiny bit.
It's definitely not necessary, but it woudn't hurt either:D
I saw that file, but can't see it in the final document.
Are the drop shadows elements of a CSS style, or of an image?
Sorry, I am absolutely clueless (but eagerly learning) this stuff.

One of the things I noticed that excited me very much about Lion was the fact that there are a lot more voices that come with the OS. Not just English (which now comes in a lot of different accents), but, finally, a lot of European languages including my own small funny language (Dutch). While that's already great, I wonder if that's all. After all, just having those voices is not all that useful. It would only start to be useful if one could finally also speak in ones own language. So far, I haven't read anything about this... Does anyone know if Lion will have better speech recognition? It just irritates me that my iPhone understands me perfectly (I use voice control all the time- in Dutch), but that my Mac only has this clumsy speech interface and worst of all does not let me speak my own language.

Ok, I'll be the jerk and point out that the OP posted a question about a Mac Book Pro on the Mac Pro forum.
Not a problem, we're all nice people (mostly) and are happy to help. But you might get more first-hand testimonials if you post in the right forum.
I am paranoid about things overheating. I'd rather have the noise from extra fans than an burned up processor.
I'd probably just get the latest and greatest that I could afford, and then buy the extended apple care. That way you're covered if it does burn up.
Apple is the only company that I would buy an extended warranty from. I don't trust other manufacturers enough to spend enough money to worry about a warranty.

Thanks! Which one is better?
Another question . People said once I use the turbo SIM I can not turn the cell phone off anymore. Why that?
That's with the first generation Gevey Turbo Sims. If you buy a Gevey Pro you don't need to do that.
But the good thing with the Rebel Micro Sim, you don't have to cut your sim card to fit the custom tray.
