Would you consider swapping the iMac for a 23" Apple Cinema Display?
Let me know. Thanks.

I noticed that after a software update this morning I can no longer write to the root directory of OS X without giving my password. I don't usually use it for anything anyway but I'm wondering why this suddenly kicked in?
Get info permissions:
System - Read & Write
Admin - Read Only (used to be Read & Write)
Everyone - Read Only
I just want to make sure that nothing's wrong with my OS X install :)

I had a few question wondering if you guys would know anything about Apple engravings on their products. First off I wanted to get "And I'm a PC" engraved on my ipad but was wondering if they would do it? Found this article that made me think (doesnt seem to trustworthy though) http://bemmu.blogspot.com/2006/04/apple-engraves-apple-rocks-instead-of.html
Also how long does engraving take?

I'm not real sure what you're talking about, but it piqued my interest so I did a quick search. I couldn't find anything matching your description, but I did find a site purporting to love Macs selling a screen protector for your new 17" iBook. Which looks suspiciously like my 15" Ti PB...

Hey guys,
Do you have any suggestions for some decent/fun split-screen multiplayers for PS3? I have all of the Call of Duty's, but I'm looking for some other games to try with my friends.

Sorry for the noob question...but I can't find out how to connect my iMacs cd drive to my MacBook air so that I can install a program... Thanx for the help!!!
On the iMac, open Settings
Go to the "Sharing" section
Check "DVD or CD Sharing"
Once enabled, the MBA should see the drive and be able to connect to it.
If you have the Firewall on the iMac turned on, you may have to allow sharing there as well.
Pretty sure there is a good description on Apple's support site as well :)

Hello,
I have a early 2008 macbook white, 2.4 ghz model
And the fans are always on and they are rather loud, I still have apple care for about another 8 months and want to take care of any possible issues.
The the smallest task will make them blast its rather annoying thanks.
MacBook fans are designed to be on all the time your Mac is on, at a minimum speed of about 2000rpm. They spin faster, as needed, to keep your Mac at a safe temperature when your CPU/GPU are under heavy workloads. Check Activity Monitor to see what apps/widgets/processes are consuming system resources.

I don't believe it is possible to do that manually. However, the way to do this is basically just to post tech things on that site. After google indexes the words on the page itself it readjusts your ads to be based on what the page is.( takes some time depneding on how frequently u get indexed) So you ad will turn into tech ads if u have tech information on that page.

I live in Savannah. This is the closest Apple store to me. I made a post about it.
I was curious what the lines are like? It's about a 2 hour drive for me, so I might just hit up a best buy...

The panel has unanimously spoken. It's rare so when it does happen you better follow the advice given. Dropbox it is.
I'd heard about dropbox alright but I wasn't sure.
I clicked your link too!

My late 2006 2GHz C2D Macbook has had a host of weird issues lately. Small issues started cropping up right after AppleCare expired, and it has only gotten worse. It started with the palmrest cracking worse that it ever has before (it was replaced 3 times). Then my sleep LED stopped working. Then the LED on my charger stopped working -- and it doesn't seem to be a charger issue, as it has this problem with ANY charger, including the new style ones.
The last few days, it has been randomly rebooting itself. No warning, no way to reliably reproduce the issue. Also, the audio crapped out earlier while watching a Flash video. I had to yoink out my speaker cable and put it back in to get it working. If it makes any difference, I've been using it in clamshell mode a lot lately.
I'm assuming it's probably a bad logic board, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Are you talking about the Time Capsule? If so, why not connect it via USB to your Mac directly and try Disk Utility then?
Yes, I meant Time Capsule, thanks :)
I'll try connecting via Ethernet, see if that works? I don't have a USB Male > USB Male wire, so I'll have to try Ethernet.
Thanks for the idea :)

Wait, I'm confused. You mean that if you close it and open it right back up, you have to press a key to wake it up *when you open it*, but if you keep it closed for an extended period of time, you don't have to press a key when you open it?
What do you mean by a brief and extended period of time? In the former case, you're not closing it and immediate (within a second or two) opening it back up again, are you?

Action adventure. More like Max Payne x Silent Hill hybrid.
Sounds cool :)
The story will keep you playing, but the ending is typical of the genre. Left wide open for a sequel.
Yeah, I can imagine. Stuff like that happens a lot in films as well. Cliff-hanging ending almost.

I ahve an older HP wireless printer. The Printer is asking for a WEP for the network 13 or 26 characters. Where can I find the AE WEP?
use the airport utility to activate wep on your network and/or assign a wep keyphrase. if you set up your network then you should know the keyphrase you created.

That looks confusing.
Sorry to hear that. I tried to make it as straightforward as possible, but it's not a simple process. If you'd like to buy some disks that are already made, Eric Shepard sells them here:
