I would imagine they're probably holding off until Tiger at which point, if I remember correctly, iSync is going to be discontinued and its functions integrated more heavily into the OS and .mac.
According to Steve's keynote this is correct. It is supposed to come out with Tiger and be more part of a .Mac sync than anything.

It's been a while since I or anyone lasted updated this, but the external hard drive market isn't exactly the fashion industry.

I am also getting Error 3194 when I try to load the latest 4.3.3 firmware. iTunes goes through the process of backing up the phone and unpacking the update and then throws the error. The phone itself works fine. Somehow iTunes doesn't want to update it. I have tried disabling my antivirus to no avail. The actual updating of the phone never starts.
I have a stock iPhone 3GS, never jailbroken, running firmware 4.3.2 (8H7), Modem firmware 05.16.02.
The only thing unusual is that a few days ago I plugged the phone into my iMac that has XCode installed (I'm not a developer, but used XCode to enable some additional gestures on my iPad). The iMac asked me if I wanted to use the phone for development (like it did for my iPad that I have been able to update to 4.3.3 without a problem). I answered yes and canceled when it asked for a developer ID. I don't know if that could be related to the issue or not.

Yeah I would just check manually manage and use as hard disk. Then find the itunes music folder on the computer and drag it over to the ipod. Do not use the itunes program for that. However, that is technically stealing music.
I thought you can't play the music if you transferred the actual file? I assume he wants to play the music on his iPod.

What is the model number of the combo drive? (I'm wondering if it will work in my slot-loading iMac G3).
I'm in Baltimore and would be glad to meet you halfway.

Yes. Make sure you have a back up if you want your non-JB settings back.
How can I backup all of my jailbreak data such as apps, themes, etc.?

Cool. Might try it since my Apple mouse is useless anyways... I hate one-buttoned mice. But I have an older one, the black Pro Mouse that came with the Cube. That black won't go too well with the blue... sigh.

I installed Coolbook on my 13" just now. Will see how that goes. Any one else use Coolbook, what settings did you choose.
edit: 12 hours later; Coolbook solved the problem. Roaring fan noise gone. Was easy to install and set up to!

I tried to read the article, but couldn't come away with anything as mind blowing as the title. Perhaps it's that Finals-Week state of mind...
Can someone sum up in two lines what's so cool about this, and what the possibilities are? From what I read it sounded like they made a better PDF file...

It's nice to have enthusiasm, and I commend you on that. However, you really aren't doing anything new. Everything you say you want to do haas already been done. The sites that already do it have large and loyal fan bases already. I just don't think it's a wise idea to devote so much time and effort into something that will essentially be a "knock-off."
Sorry :(

Ah yes, adding another Mac later will definitely not work under my suggestion. Buying a simple switch makes sense here for sure.

For easiest compatibility shoot with a camera that records using H.264.
I've yet to hear of a non-IOS device producing video that is directly editable with iMovie/iPad. Do you know of a specific camera that does this?

Clearly, some have absolutely no privacy concerns, since what goes here, goes all over the internet.
How is posting your bedroom a privacy concern? I don't see what safety issues you'd be risking.
