That depends on the applications. Some applications broke in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard for example, and shortly after 10.6 became publicly available at the end of August developers released updates for their Leopard compatible software to make it also run in Snow Leopard.
When Lion is finally released, it will have less incompatible applications anyway, as many developers and non-developers are testing 10.7 right now.

Sound like a good idea?
Not #4, The last time I did that my G5 Electrocuted me, and it wouldn't boot for a week!
I ned to get typing and do a few more classic pages! The plan is interesting, I just don't know how to work with the software well enough to help implement it!

The obvious upgrades would be HD iSight camera and 2 thunderbolt ports (so you can daisy chain the display). However, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple incorporates some sort of hard drive or ssd storage into the cinema display. Since Thunderbolt can transmit both data and audio/video, it would be awesome if the display can also act as an external hard drive.

I avoided any custom features from Apple to avoid any delays but even the standard 1.25 appears to have been delayed. (Someone suggested so that Apple could include Bluetooth)

He's right you should try to put 512 MB in there if you're running 10.4 to get a little more performance. I think you can go up to 1.25 GB of RAM on that computer.

How do I do that??
Use 7-zip to extract the files from the MSI (BootCamp.msi for 32 bit and BootCamp64.msi for 64 bit). Then it's very similar to the video.

Export your video via Quicktime export in Final Cut (Go to Export and click QuickTime on the top of the list) -> Use the ProRes Settings.
After this, open up Apple Compressor and take the iPhone 4 preset to compress your ProRes file into a much smaller file (around 1GB).
This will allow you to watch it on AppleTV, iPhone 4, Quicktime, etc...

We had to consider other options for back-up.
After lugging around a MBP we broke down and got one of these:
http://www.nextodi.com/product/NVS2500_en.html
We went with the older 2500 since we dont use P2 here.
Mostly CFs for Canons and RED MX.
As far as practical back-up, gameface has it on the nose :)

I have a cheap Bytecc external case. (Oxford 911 chipset) It has both firewire and usb2. I put a harddrive in one and a Lite-On DVD burner in the other.
Both work great for windows and mac.

No, your Safari is behaving normally. When you open a group of tabs, those tabs replace whatever tab or tabs were open before. To get back the old ones, press the back button. There's no automatic way I know of to have two groups of tabs open at once.

I purchased the peachpit press books intending to do the Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA 10.6) exams but havent had time to do so until now. From what iv'e read about discontinuing of xserve and apple looking to move away from this area is it really worth my time and money doing this certification anymore? I want some apple certification to my name. Im wondering if I should just do the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) 10.6. its only one exam as opposed to four. Any advice would be appreciated thanks
Servers will STILL exist in the form of Mac Pro Server & Mac Mini Server on the hardware front, while Lion will also have a server. There are MANY OS X SL servers currently in use and will require on-going support before an unplanned indecisive progression to just quickly upgrade to Lion Server - I can think of a few in-house apps for some organizations that would slow the upgrade process.
still worth it to continue reading & studying. I will begin myself next week for the same book/course.

The only thing bogus about this article is that it ignores all the Americans who are using the iPad for inventive ways and methods. It's basically comparing a few US-based forums and blogs, to people (in other countries) doing stuff on the street and in their own webpages.
I was first in line for the thing because one of the main things is that it could easily replace my music sheets I would otherwise have to clutter on a music stand. So a nice page-sized device in which I could flip pages, without error, or dropping sheets (what might at worst get me lost), is a boon. It also serves as an Ebook reader, for which I never bought one, before. Of course, some apps have given me new ideas, since.

I was hoping someone could let me know if they have the Frank Sinatra 24x36 Think Different Poster. This is the one where he is standing in a grey suit in front of a mic and a music stand. Thank you for anyone's help!
Strangely enough - I do. I have a few 'Think Different' posters that I've been considering selling (including framed Feynman and Henson posters, and an Edison poster - and I swear that somewhere I have the Miles Davis poster...)
I haven't snapped photos yet, but the Sinatra poster is one that I never got around to framing; it's in a poster tube in near mint condition, only a few wrinkles on the edges from when I bought it ~ 10 years ago. It's been in the tube since then. (No pinholes, no lamination.)
Post a note if interested (just noticed that "PM" isn't a function here!) - I'm looking for ~ $250 for the poster; but will entertain reasonable offers.

Normally every time you convert something to a lossy format, data is lost. So the more you convert, the more data lost. So it's a good idea to always convert from the master file. Also, I believe there is no data lost with lossless.. hence the name.
